Tips For Growing The Bonsai Miniature Rose Tree
Lots of Bonsai lovers are starting to focus on the great look of Bonsai miniature rose trees. People might think it takes a light touch to grow a miniature rose tree, but when these gorgeous trees are in full bloom, they are hardier than one might expect. Most Bonsai miniature roses are at least five inches tall and various species will be even taller. No matter how tall they grow, you will enjoy growing these special roses.
You will need to pay special attention to miniature roses if you want to grow them inside. They will most likely need more light than a sunny window will give them. Bonsai miniature roses will show if they are getting enough sunlight through the stems. More sun is needed if the stems look as though they are reaching out. You will be able to see wide spacing between the leaves.
Indoor roses don’t like to dry out. You must keep the air moist. Placing the miniature roses in a container or tray of small rocks and water will provide enough moisture. You can keep the container above the water level with the small rocks. Then the soil stays dry, not soggy. The slowly evaporating water raises the moisture level in the air that the Bonsai needs. If this isn’t enough for a house with dry air, then sometimes a mist vaporizer is reccommended.
There is no doubt that your Bonsai miniature rose will attract pests. Whiteflies and spider mites like the Bonsai while it is inside the house. This can be prevented or kept to a minimum by washing the entire leaves. Insecticide soap once a week will help with the whiteflies. Since there is alcohol in the insecticide you want to keep them out of the light to keep the Bonsai from drying out.
When your roses have been attacked by pests and you have other plants, it is in your best interest to keep them separated, so the other plants do not suffer the same fate. If it was a serious enough attack, the plant can be cut back. It can re-grow and possibly have a fuller appearance than before. Attractive rose blooms can be attained by using a high potassium fertilizer. Mix the fertilizer and water in a 1:4 ratio and use it at least weekly.
Many people who grow miniature roses alternate between indoor and outdoor growing, according to the seasons. This can be beneficial, due to the pests that they are prone to. Bonsai miniature roses that are grown in containers outdoors have a tendency to lose moisture quickly. Miniature roses are able to fare well planted in gardens.
While the bonsai miniature rose is somewhat new to the indoor planting world, it’s becoming more popular as more people are discovering how easy they are to grow and maintain. Bonsai miniature roses are beautiful and have a pleasant fragrance to the blooms as well.
