		<title>Advantages of Gardening</title>
		<description>by Matt Truman

Since early times, gardening has been a vital part of human society. In present day, individuals can get a lot of pleasure from participating in this age-old practice, while gaining a number of great attributes from a newfound hobby.

The fruits and vegetables you get from gardening is usually of a higher quality than anything found in stores. You also have the satisfaction of eating something that you made yourself. The kicker is that your entire yield is almost completely free, after factoring the small costs of gardening.

Unless you are using chemicals in your gardening, everything you grow will be organic. Everyone knows that organic is better, as it is healthier and more natural for the body. With all the pollution in today's society, it is important to get as much organic material inside you as possible.

If you have a fairly large garden, you can work up quite a sweat working on it. There are many tasks one has to complete to have a well run garden, and they all add up to a good workout. Of course, if you have a small garden, this might not apply as much.

In addition to being physically challenging, gardening can also be good for the mental state. It relieves stress and requires one to use their mind to figure out the best ways to efficiently tend their garden. After a long period of gardening, it would be no surprise if you found yourself a bit smarter.

The number one contributor to death in the United States and most parts of the developed world is stress. Therefore, the fact that gardening reduces stress is an incredible, life-sustained benefit. Not only does the food make you healthy, but the mere act of gardening can too.

Instead of keeping all the fruit and vegetables to yourself, why not consider sharing some of it? Of course, sharing doesn't necessarily mean giving it away for free; if you play your cards right, you can make a good amount of money from distributing your crops.

Gardening is an all around great activity that improves your mind and body in every way imaginable. You get healthier, grow good food, and ultimately feel more whole as a human being.

<title>The motivating event for Plumber community</title>
		<description>by Scott Rodgers

Its simply amazing to see the kind of response this recent Plumbers week has collected for itself. After having not set out the way we were expecting it to have, it is stupendous to see the way it suddenly picked up momentum and ended on a great note. It really justified the kind of preparation we did for it.

When we first went ahead with this small idea in our head, we were inundated with a trillion doubts as to how such an unconventional event will be responded to. Everyone involved in this noble effort was somewhere very skeptical about it. Well, and then we thought, lets just go ahead!

And Im happy that we chose to support it. The kind of encouragement building up its done for the plumbers is brilliant. Besides this, it has given an excitement to a lot many professionals that their work can be respected by one and all.

The whole idea is- everyone needs some excitement in their professional sphere sometime or the other. For a community of plumbing experts, we did it not out of any coercion but because we knew that this would further do them a great deal of benefit.

To tell you a little about the details- the week opened with some fun games for plumbers. Some took this opportunity to advertise their skills and fetch more business. Some addressed general plumbing issues at large and some spoke of this community in general. All in all, the participation was surprising and encouraging both.

Next we all saw some interesting contests for plumbers wherein they stood to gain handsome gifts and prizes like some home durables, a trip to the nearby adventure Island and many other small attractions.

As we entered the second half of the Plumbers week, we observed that Plumbing business has gone up in general .There were a lot of residential and commercial people seeking the aid of a plumber for plumbing issues. This gave a good visibility for these plumbing guys.

The most beautiful part of this fair is that it instilled the apt quantity of enthusiasm in both the parties- the plumbing professionals as well as potential clients. And if word is to be believed, then workers from other professions also want something like this to happen for them. Good enough, isnt it?

		<title>How Green Plumbing Is Beneficial</title>
		<description>by Scott Rodgers

New homes should have good and an efficient plumbing system. These days one should consider ways that are more environment friendly. So, now it's time to go green.

Green plumbing is all about saving water and energy resources by minimizing their consumption. It also aims at low chemical usage which would result in a cleaner environment. As a result it ensures healthy living.

The initial cost for going green with plumbing can be a bit higher than the conventional method, but it will surely prove to be cheaper in the ling run as it reduces the energy and water costs greatly.

By going green , you are not only reducing your utility bills but it ensures a healthy living as well. Green plumbing provides cleaner water, making for a healthier home, and it conserves valuable water resources.

Here are a few tips to save energy usage at home by going green. By insulating the pipes and avoiding using exterior walls for plumbing fittings can be a great help in saving energy as it reduces the heat loss immensely. One can install more efficient water heater pumps which are available these days like the on-demand water heaters which send water to your fixtures in a matter of seconds. This way you won't lose heat as hot water does not have to unnecessarily sits unused in the pipes, and also reduces water usage. Using solar heating systems is also a good option.

By going green with your plumbing, you can achieve positive environmental impacts. You can minimize the wastage by switching to green products. Installing low- flow showers, faucets can reduce the home water usage by a large percentage. Low flush toilets also helps in saving water.

One can gather information from the internet regarding other green plumbing techniques that one can switch to like rain water harvesting. One can also go in for small green plumbing course to have complete knowledge. Plumbers can also be a great help in this concern.

Any step in this direction would be beneficial. Its not an all or nothing scheme. So installing low flush toilets or opting for easy to install flow reducers will be a good start.

		<title>A Journey In A Ship</title>
		<description>by Scott Rodgers

I thought of wandering in a ship as wandering is an intense ardor of mine. I select my journey in a ship as I have not personally observed the feeling of traveling in a ship. Before traveling I had already registered my tickets in the ship. I reached before time so that I wont fail to board the ship.

Traveling in a ship has its own of power of pleasing. It really fascinates me. But it does not deter away from enjoying the trip in a bus or by a train. I accosted the ship and I was given my room The room was really attractive with modern accessories. The room was directly facing the blue water. It was a wonderful scene which I can never forget.

There were crew members in the ship. These crew members consists of cook , waiter, electricians , and many others. There was also the captain and the driver. My trip was for five days which was two nights and three days.

I got refreshed myself as I was fatigued. As I had boarded the ship in the night there was the provision of dinner on the same day. I left my room and headed towards the dinning hall. The dinning hall was a big large room.

The dinning hall was full within few minutes. Everyone was served the dinner. I relaxed myself and sat in a chair. There was also a group of boys rented to perform for us in a stage inside the dinning hall. It was around nine in the evening everyone assembled in the dinning room.

The band also started. Just about few minutes after they started the lights were gone off. We are in the dark room and the a ray of moonlight was like a ray of hope. Everyone got scared and prayed for themselves and for their safety.

There were electricians as part of members in the ship. They approached towards the dinning hall . A couple of electricians checked all the connections and moved towards the main room where all the circuit connections were being coupled. They found that one of the circuit connections is freed from itself.

The electricians fitted the circuit which was loose and which was connected to the dinning hall. The room was again bright with lights and the chandelier was swinging like stars have grouped together to form a big star. I finished my dinner and went to my room with the memories wrapped. The next day I reached my final goal. The trip was worth remembering.

<title>Garden Tours - One Way To Know About Plants</title>
		<description>by Thomas Fryd

You need never hesitate to ask questions of the various owners while on a garden tour, garden owners are noted for their willingness to share their knowledge, and sometimes their plants! The roses that are so perfect... what is the spraying schedule... and what kind of sprayer is most satisfactory? How often is the lawn fertilized? Were the chrysanthemums started from divisions or cuttings?

Your notebook will soon become a priceless reference book, filled with answers to the problems of your specific locality.

Naturally, the flowers and plants you see will be an exciting adventure, for in May and June all the world seems a garden. Some kinds will be new to you, others will be old sorts that you had forgotten, and some, perhaps the most thrilling of all, will be familiar favorites used in unfamiliar ways.

I shall never forget the enchanting picture of hundreds of columbines blooming beneath the arching branches of an ancient elm, the sunlight filtering through in just the right measures to assure six or eight weeks of bloom from these happy and dancing flowers.

And who could think of anything to mitigate the commonplace look of a barberry hedge? But one homeowner did when he planted at its base a wide band of Pachysandra terminalis (spurge). The different heights of the two kinds of plants added great interest, and the green of the pachysandra provided a wonderful foil in fall and winter to the scarlet fruits of the barberry.

But you must not let the beauty of the individual plants distract from some of the basic principles of design. There are many months when the size and shape of a flower bed will have as much to do with your pleasure in it as its colorful contents in the spring. When one particularly pleases you, measure its width in relation to its length; the width of the paths: and note also what relation they all bear to the adjacent grass area. Proportion is a subtle thing that can delight you with its unobstrusive perfection.

Your pleasure will be greater, too, if you can follow a path that takes you through the garden one way and brings you back another, without retracing your steps. A great landscape idea isn't it? And it may give you the chance to discover the little mowing strip of bricks laid on sand that outlines the shrub border: the compost pile artfully hidden behind a large shrub in a tiny yard of handkerchief size; the hedge-like edging of ordinary lemon thyme around an herb garden; and the wonderful adaptability of lily turf (liriope) to both sun and shade, and its rich accent in perennial beds [1].

And always you must be alert to see how the homeowner has achieved privacy, "the most priceless heritage of civilized man." Even with the smallest of yards it is possible, and the more discouraging the problem the greater will be your delight in its solution.

I have in mind a house with a picture window at the side, floor length, looking into an open garage less than 40 feet away. A formal lily pool was built at the base of the window, the side opposite the window semi-circular in shape. This same curve was repeated in a tall hedge of privet along the side boundary, and in this recess was a charming stone figure with urns of white petunias near by. Simple, serene, and inexpensive, yet in the hot summers of Mid-America, what could give greater illusion of coolness than the clear water, the green lawn, and snowy flowers against the rich, dark background of smartly trimmed hedge?

<title>Free Your Backyard From Leaves With A Blower-vac</title>
		<description>by Steve Gardner

This time and labor saving machine was introduced in the 70's to remove leaves, grass mulch and general debris from your driveways, sidewalks and your landscaping, and can even clean gutters and do a bit of light snow removal.

Shortly thereafter manufacturers discovered that many consumers were removing the chemical dispensing parts from the device, leaving only the blower behind. Manufacturers then saw the potential of their invention as a common lawn and garden maintenance tool. They also perform beautifully to remove dead leaves from awkward nooks and crannies (like between closely-planted prickly shrubs). They probably save labor by like a factor of ten. With a flip of a switch the blower can switch to a vacuum to suck up leaves and mulch them. Some electric models also have rechargeable battery packs to avoid the hassle of using an A/C outlet and trailing a cord.

Some electric blower-vacs are cordless that use rechargeable battery. With these models can be avoided a complete hassle of using an A/C outlet and messing with a cord. These machines are unbelievably stable and have enough power to clean wet leaves and thick debris with ease. They're also ideal for removing lawn refuse from expansive surfaces like parking lots or motorways. Leaf blowers are commonly used among homeowners because they can collect all dead leaves into a big pile for the yard waste bin. Some electric or gas powered blower-vacs can be sometimes uncomfortable.

In response to concerns over the noise of petrol-powered blower vacs, corded electric models are now more powerful than ever, some of them even surpassing their petrol-powered brethren, and with less weight. The biggest drawback to these garden machines is that you're limited to 100 feet from the plug socket, or the motor can be damaged. While a gas blower is powerful they make quite a lot of noise when compared to the electric powered leaf blowers and vacuums. Some communities have noise restrictions so check quietness claims.

Electric engines provide plenty of power, are 50 - 70% quieter than gas powered leaf blowers and emit no air pollution. If yardmen used electric leaf blowers to vacuum up and mulch yard debris, it would eliminate virtually all the air pollution problems and greatly reduce the issue of noise.

Many newer blower-vac models rates up to 70db at 50ft at full speed. And unlike landscape maintenance workers, who need hearing protection because of long hours exposure to sound coming from a machine near to their ears, homeowners can hear a leaf blower-vac sound for only a coupe of minutes a week, and at greater distances.

Several factors have to be kept in mind while you are looking for a blower-vac:

1. volume (cc)

2. weight

3. class

The volume determines how many cubic feet can blower-vac cover per minute. Some of the leaf blowers can convert to shredders or mulchers, from blowers to vacuums or vice versa.

In any case first try any blower-vac before you purchase it and, while you do your work in the backyard, do wear the recommended safety gear for protection during leaves blowing.

<title>The Secrets Of Reaction Wood For Woodworking</title>
		<description>by Ryan Henders

Many individual woodworkers even seasoned ones don't really understand the term reaction wood. This is where a piece of wood has a flaw or imperfection in it but one cannot see it easily. Then what happens is when a thin strip is removed from this type of wood it warps or twist. Then it could also pinch the blade and you end up with burns in the wood caused by friction or the blade stalls.

The culprit of this is that the piece of wood you are working with as been cut from a tree that had a lean in it. If it happened to be one of the softwood trees that it came from than the reaction wood will be called compression wood because it comes from the lower side of the lean. You may notice that this type of wood is very dense. Additionally it will be hard and brittle.

With hardwood trees, the compression wood comes from the opposite of the softwood types. In this case, now the reaction wood takes place on the upper side on the lean. It is now called tension wood. You may notice with tension wood that you get a lot of shrinkage in the length and it will have that wooly surface appearance to it.

If at all possible you want to avoid buying the reaction woods. To begin with if it?s the hardwood then the density it going to give you a problem when you go to stain it. The stain will not take evenly. This will be noticeable when you put it with the other parts of your project.

Another problem with reaction wood is its weakness. It won?t accept a heavy load. Then also, when you go to put your nails or screws into it the wood is liable to crack or split easier. If you are using this type of wood for carving or getting it to take any type of shape you are going to find its not very cooperative. It will react adversely to moisture changes as well.

The difficult issue about this whole problem is how to be able to identify what is a piece of reaction wood. For the untrained eye, it?s almost impossible but there are a few common place things that you can look for that may be of some help.

If you take a close look at the piece of wood you are thinking of buying and you notice there is a sweep to it or it seems crooked then don?t buy it. Most likely it is reaction wood. If you are familiar with the type of wood, you are looking at and it seems out of character then use caution. If you find that the piece seems harder than usual or dense, it?s most likely reaction wood.

If you see that, the wood looks fuzzy or there are cracks that are pulling away from the board that?s another sign of the reaction wood.

Hopefully by knowing a little about reaction wood your tools aren?t going to get all the blame that comes with the mishaps of this type of inferior wood.

<title>How To Do Proper Wood Finishing</title>
		<description>by Ryan Henders

When you are working on a project it's natural to think about it from beginning to end. You can visualize the type of wood finish you want but then when it comes to that time you maybe having second thoughts. The best way to get a true idea of the various types of wood finishes is to visit your local supply store. When we are referring to finish we are talking about that final end to your project, which is the clear protective coating. This is what is going to protect all your hard work. It means making some decisions though as there are about five types of finishes that you have the choice to work with. These are oil, varnish and polyurethane, shellac, lacquer and those that are water based.

When you are choosing your finish remember the job it is suppose to do which is be strong enough for what the project is determined for and to protect the wood. You want to find something that is easy to use and you will need rags, brushes and ideally a spray gun.

Most often novice woodworkers dread this stage of their project afraid they are going to mess it up. It?s actually an easy task to do if you take your time and know a little about the various finishes. You can use a brush for slow drying products like polyurethane and varnish. Your faster drying finishes really demand the use of a spray gun. The drawback with the slow driers means more chance of dust settling into the finish. There?s no problem with this with oil finishes because they immediately soak into the wood.

How strong the finish is particularily important when objects are going to be set on the finished piece. Another area you want to be sure of is that your finish will be moisture resistant.

Oil finishes have their advantages. They will treat and preserve the wood because they penetrate it. You aren?t able to create a build up with these finishes because of this. They don?t give as much protection as the other finishes but they are easy to work with. You need to decide which type of oil finish you want to work with such as one that will cure or one that doesn?t. Ideally, though you don?t want to use the non-curing ones because they continue to seep into the wood and weaken the protections.

For oils that cure, you can use linseed or tung oil. The linseed oil comes from the flax plant but you want the boiled type because it dries in a day where the standard oil can take a week to dry. Tung oil comes from the Tung tree and dries in a few days.

Applying the oil finishes are easy, as you just wipe it on wait ten minutes then allow it to cure. Your project will need a light sanding in between coats, which is usually about three for linseed oil and five to six for tung oil.

		<title>Time To Call A Plumber</title>
		<description>by Scott Rodgers

It is really exciting to attend a marriage party. The party was the same as I had expected. The party was decorated with flowers and it was looking so beautiful that it was difficult to find any flaws. I got to see many known faces. The arrangements were perfect.

I reached before the usual time to the party. Everyone's apparel were not identical to each other. So everyone were looking sumptuous in appearance. All were assembled around eight in the room.

The bride and the groom were looking so magnificent in their dresses that I could not stop clicking snaps of theirs. To give a congratulatory hand to the couple I went up on the stage.

There was a provision for dancing and it was in the open ground. Once the music started everyone gathered and the crowd increased. The party was in the summer, so it was more enjoyable. All of them started to dance. If the party is an open ground then then one can party till lat at night in the summer.

Everyone enjoyed the party as it was held in summer and in an open air. Everyone shook their legs till they made themselves fatigued. We invited the couple even to dance. And they joined us. Everyone rejoiced together.

The ground was totally wet, where we were dancing. The water had spread everywhere and there was no place to stand. The level of water was gradually rising and finally we got wet with our shoes and clothes. We could survive as it was an open floor, but if it had been in an closed area and no availability of plumbers then life would have been at risk.

Thankfully the plumbers being hired were available. They came running for the rescue. They found that while dancing on the ground someone by mistake has stepped into the pipe which was connected to the water tank for providing water has broken. They immediately mended the pipe with their equipments.

The party had to be stopped as we were already soaked with water and in no mood to dance again with wet clothes. We finally had the food. The food was tasty. We enjoyed the dinner and the dance party. But could dance for too long. We returned home late. But the party was worth remembering.

<title>Dont Let Dust Take Away Plumbing Beauty</title>
		<description>by Scott Rodgers

Dust is a common spoilsport when it comes to beautiful plumbing pieces. Last summer, when it was dust and dry winds everywhere, a lot of consumers complained about their beautiful and elegant plumbing accessories getting dull within a short span of their purchase. Well, really a pity considering that these faucets and taps are really made to look stunning nowadays.

Look at this, the pearly look Oyster taps faucets that are coming these days or for that matter, even the multi colored plastic pipes meant for gardening purposes are really not just about utility. The kind of exuberance they carry by way of their newfound appearance is simply breathtaking.

Dont you find this quirky enough? From ordinary and less plush looking plumbing parts to highly rich looking equipment, plumbing has undergone a vast change; changes that can really make your residence look ultra fantastic. A big change this is, dont you feel so?

In fact the last instance when I went to a plumbing shop, it was really amusing, I wondered- is it a Lifestyle store that I just stepped in? So taking into account the richness that now adorns these accessories, it really would be unjust to see these parts getting layered by dust and dirt.

Therefore, I suggest some handy tips to keep your symbols of pride intact " Foremost is to keep an anti germ liquid cleaner for all plumbing equipment, ready in your bathrooms, and other parts of your house. Ensure that you use a clean muslin and light piece of cloth for this. Also, after you wipe clean the equipment, ensure that all windows and doors are kept shut. Otherwise, itll go waste.

The fact is-you should not just sit pretty after youve bought your favorite piece. Take care of it as you would of your favorite crystal vase or your expensive cutlery from Turkey!! A well-kept bathroom or garden or kitchen really adds that special bit of sparkle to your house.

In line with what we are seeing here, a host of corporates and small units are looking at how they can offer you help in terms of maintaining that gold-polished faucet, or any other special plumbing accessory.

So, till this new career stream picks up more steam, I shall keep letting you know how you, as a professional can tap this area as a career proposition and hoe you, as a customer can utilize these tips to take care of your fancy equipment.
