Gardening Tip of the Week
It’s Gwynne Curry here from ContainerGardenOnline.com. Hope you are having a great week!
This week we’re going to address the issue of taking care of your lawn so you can spend more time in the garden.
Mowing the lawn week in and week can get old quicker than a squeaky door hinge. Have you ever thought of planting ground cover in those hard to mow spots? Chamomile and dichondra are great choices if you have a heavily trafficked area.
Chamomile grows easily and quickly from seed and hangs around a long time, even through dry seasons. Plus, it has a lovely apple-like scent when crushed!
Other ground covers include crownvetch, sedum, and sweet woodruff. These grow well, even when rain is scarce.
Here’s to less mowing and more harvesting!
